Physiotherapy In Motion is pleased to continue to offer Virtual Physiotherapy through VideoPhysio. During the ongoing COVID19 Crisis, the Physiotherapy InMotion Clinic has re-opened for in-person visits. This online platform is still open and offered to patients who are unable to come into the Clinic or who prefer this VideoPhysio platform. Patients are able to combine in person visits with VideoPhysio consults as well.
Book your appointment today to continue with your current treatment plan or to address any new concerns.
VideoPhysio is the use of information or communication technologies to allow you and your physiotherapist to connect via telephone or video conference (similar to Skype or FaceTime) to receive physiotherapy services at a distance when an in-person visit creates a barrier to treatment. Physiotherapy Alberta College + Association has a very informative handout that helps explain and answer questions about VideoPhysio, also known as Telehealth. Click here to access it.
During a VideoPhysio appointment, your physiotherapist is able to listen and ask questions about your current injury/illness concerns, assess basic mobility and movements recommend a course of self-management that includes education, self-mobilization, exercises, and review of current rehab strategies..
You can expect to receive the same exceptional care through our VideoPhysio services as you would in the PT in Motion clinic. However, although many situations are served well by VideoPhysio, not everything will be appropriate. Your therapist will absolutely inform you if they feel they will not be able to help you via VideoPhysio ~ they will direct you to whom else in your own community (another health care profession for example), or the type of referral you may need to receive from your GP to move you forward in your care.
How does it work?
.All you need is an internet connection, access to a desktop, laptop, smart phone or tablet, with access to a microphone and camera (typically built into the device) and to follow these instructions:
1. Book your initial assessment / consultation online HEREor by EMAILING US or phoning the clinic
2. Create an account with a login name and password on our booking system - without it, you won't be able to join the VideoPhysio appointment. Complete your intake forms as they will help the appointment run smoothly. They will be emailed to you as soon as you book your appointment. Please take the time to complete these prior to your appointment.
3. To connect to your appointment, open your Appointment Reminder email that was sent to you by your provider; it will include a direct link to login into your My Account area and directions to get ready for your upcoming online appointment. For more detailed information on how to connect, please see this guide. 4. Following your appointment your therapist will summarize the goals and treatment plan you agree on, assist you with booking your follow-up sessions, and send you your homework.
Tips: To have a great appointment please ensure the following:
You have your camera set up in a location that allows you to move around and still be seen
You have clear audio - you may want to consider using earbuds for clearer sound (not necessary)
Have a private space free of distraction so you can focus on what you need
